What is a Professional Home Inspection?
A professional home inspection is primarily a visual examination of the visible, safely accessible, and readily accessible components of the interior and exterior areas of a property for specific conditions that are adversely affecting the normally intended function or operation of those systems and their related components. The systems and their related components that are included in the inspection are those specified by the Standards of Practice of the American Society of Home Inspectors and by our Inspection Contract. The information collected during the home inspection is documented in a written report along with recommendations for appropriate actions to address the conditions noted in the report as well as other useful information about various systems and components listed in the inspection report. We normally issue a printed report on site and we also offer a CD version, or we can also email or fax the report.
Why Should a Home Be Inspected?
Even though we normally do not think of a home as a large piece of technology, it is, in a sense, a big machine that performs numerous functions. Its various systems keep us warm or cool depending on the season, healthy (by providing sanitary facilities), provide a place to work, play, study, entertain, and raise families, as well as many other functions. In order to do all these things, a home's systems and components not only have to function on their own, they must also function together. A home inspection provides valuable information about the condition and operation of these systems and components. It assists Clients who are either buying a home or selling their existing home in assessing their needs and making informed decisions about the property.
