About Me, Michael Peterson

Like many professional home inspectors who come from a building trades background such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, heating and cooling, etc., I come with years of experience as a Carpenter, Cabinetmaker, and Millwright. The skills I acquired and developed in these trades along with working with many other building trades professionals have given me the kind of broad background essential to helping me prepare for the home inspection profession.

I have been a member of The American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) for about three years now (Member No.244599). ASHI is the North America’s oldest, largest, and most well organized professional home inspection organization and I have received my formal home inspector training through ASHI. They also require each inspector to complete and verify additional training on a yearly basis as part of their required and ongoing educational program. Housing-related industries and services are constantly changing and all of us in the professional home inspection profession need to continually adapt to those changes.

I believe that most individuals who are interested in a home inspection simply want to get as much information as possible about the condition of the property they currently own or are intending to purchase and to use the information to help them to make informed decisions about that property. This is the reason I focus on Buyers’ Inspections and Sellers’ inspections rather than on offering a wide range of additional services under separate contract and for an additional fee. I believe in offering a good, sound, informational, professional home inspection at a reasonable and competitive fee.
